Lagna in the nakshatra Pushya is the ascendant in the eighth lunar station, ruled by Saturn. Pushya occupies 3°20′–16°40′ of Cancer — the middle of the sign. This is a watery, lunar position colored by the nakshatra's Saturnine task: to build, order, and give form its stability.
This lagna enters life through structure and care: reserved but warm, reading the world through what needs to be built, the people who need looking after, the obligations that need carrying.

A mahadasha or antardasha of Saturn in this layer is a time of peak load: Saturn sits in a sign held by its enemy in Cancer, and this adds noticeable heaviness to the period. Periods of the Moon are favorable for a rising Pushya: it rules the sign and gives a window for emotional contact and recovery. For reference: a transit through a nakshatra takes Saturn about a year, Jupiter about five months, adjusted for a possible retrograde loop.
A rising Pushya isn't "cold." The baseline state of this lagna is reserved care, not a fixed verdict: the pattern depends on the rest of the chart (the sign's ruler, the Sun, the other grahas).
