Brahma is yoga of creation.
Brahma (Brahma) is the twenty-fifth of the 27 yogas of the panchanga. By count it's yoga #25, right after Shukla. The name comes from Brahma — the creator god in Hindu cosmogony. Tradition counts the Brahma yoga among the favorable: days under it suit creativity, learning, and any matter where making something new matters.
Place in the system
Yoga is the fourth limb of the panchanga, counted by the sum of the longitudes of the Sun and the Moon. Brahma is twenty-fifth in the 27-part cycle, from 320° to 333°20′ of combined longitude.
In the muhurta classification, Brahma is counted among the favorable yogas. The connection to creation and starting something new is the yoga's main note. Twenty-fifth by count, it falls closer to the end of the 27-part cycle.
Practical meaning
In the tradition of choosing a muhurta, Brahma is held favorable for creative undertakings, learning, offerings, austerity. Tradition adds any matter where making something new matters, rather than reworking the old.
The Brahma background works through creation. Tradition ties such a day to what's conceived from scratch, not copied or repeated from someone else's model. This isn't a yoga for repetition — it's a yoga for the new.
In daily practice
Brahma is a day for creativity. It's good on this day to start a new project, come up with a new solution, write a new text with a clean slate. The Brahma yoga supports any undertaking where making something of your own matters.
Brahma also suits learning, especially if you're starting a new subject from scratch. Tradition ties Brahma to starting to learn and to a first encounter with a subject, rather than going back over what's already covered.
Brahma also suits prayer, pious practices, and offerings at the founding of a new venture. The note of beginning here is a natural support, not a guarantee of an easy path.
How favorable this day is for you personally is refined by Tara Bala — a count from your birth nakshatra. Brahma sets a general background of creation and beginning, and the personal layer shows whether that background fits your state today.
