Shukla Dvitiya

Shukla Dvitiya (Dvitiya) — the second tithi of the waxing moon, the second lunar day of the bright half of the month. By count this is tithi No. 2, and it belongs to the Bhadra class — "auspicious" days, to which tradition allows a wide range of favorable matters. It's a calm, even day for clothes and adornment, for rites and travel, for beginning things that need to go smoothly.

Bhadra tithis in general are days of a wide spectrum of favorable matters. Tradition warns only against what directly contradicts the class's meaning: for instance, it's not a good idea to begin in Bhadra a matter that calls for stillness and fasting — that fits better on Purna.
