Siddha is yoga of completion and success.

Siddha (Siddha) is the twenty-first of the 27 yogas of the panchanga. By count it's yoga #21, right after Shiva. The name comes from the Sanskrit "siddha" — "perfected," "accomplished," "possessed of siddhis." Tradition counts Siddha among the favorable yogas: days under it suit practice, austerity, and any matter where maturity matters more than a fresh push.

Place in the system

Yoga is the fourth limb of the panchanga, counted by the sum of the longitudes of the Sun and the Moon. Siddha is twenty-first in the 27-part cycle, from 266°40′ to 280° of combined longitude. Not to be confused with Siddhi (#16) — success that shows outwardly: Siddha speaks to a mature state that has settled within, not to a fresh outward result.

In the muhurta classification, Siddha is counted in the favorable group. The connection to inner completeness is the yoga's main note.

Practical meaning

In the tradition of choosing a muhurta, Siddha is held favorable for austerity, mantra practice, vows, temple offerings. Tradition adds any matter where what already exists inside matters, rather than what's freshly born.

The Siddha background works through maturity. Tradition ties such a day to a state that has already settled and no longer needs a fresh struggle to hold it.

In daily practice

Siddha is a day for what's already settled. It's good on this day to lean on what's long been worked into place: to acknowledge a skill you already hold, to trust a practice that's been with you for years. The Siddha yoga supports any undertaking where inner steadiness matters.

Siddha also suits practice — meditation, mantra repetition, reading scripture. Tradition ties such a day to what leads toward inner maturity and goes deeper than usual.

Siddha also suits vows tied to long labor. Tradition holds such a day fitting for reinforcing a vow you've already been keeping on your own for some time.

How favorable this day is for you personally is refined by Tara Bala — a count from your birth nakshatra. Siddha sets a general background of inner maturity, and the personal layer shows whether that background fits your state today.
